Indiana Hearing Aid Company was established in 1989 by Douglas McMillin, a state and nationally certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. It is his mission to ensure that those with hearing loss maximize their ability to use what hearing they have and hear as best as possible! In order to exceed your expectations, Indiana Hearing Aid Company employs Audiologists and Hearing Instrument Specialists with over 100 years of combined experience!!! When you come to our office your appointment will include:
Calling for an appointment: One of our professionally trained staff with gather your information and schedule your hearing and communication consultation at an office conveniently located to you. They will encourage you to bring a family member or friend with you because a familiar voice is important in determining appropriate hearing aid need and benefit.
Video Otoscopy: a small fiber-optic camera attached to a computer monitor will be used to examine your ear canal for excessive wax build-up.
Hearing Evaluation: a complete hearing test is done to determine what you are hearing and what you are not! Examining your hearing for tones to determine the lowest level of sound you can hear, speech recognition to determine the lowest level of speech you recognize, and word recognition to determine how well you understand works when they are loud enough for you to hear them. ALL DONE AT NO CHARGE TO YOU OR YOUR INSURANCE!
Hearing Aid Demonstration: Audibel Virtue series digital hearing aids can be programmed for you specific hearing needs. Our software, “Virtual World” allows you to “experience” sitting near a piano in a crowded restaurant, watching TV while someone washes dishes, driving down the road with the window open, being outside at a playground by the river for a cookout, sitting in a theater or even talking on the telephone. “Active Feedback Intercept” will virtually eliminate whistling! It’s like a dress rehearsal for a new life of improved hearing!
Hearing Aid Order: Ear Impressions are simple, painless, and may be one of the most important steps. A good fit is crucial for your comfort.
Hearing Aid Fitting: Evaluation of your hearing with hearing aids for maximum speech understanding, training for proper use, and specialized steps to eliminate whistling will ensure that soft sounds are audible and loud sounds are comfortable.
Hearing Aid Check: Follow-up visits are FREE for as long as you own our hearing aids!
